"What's the special?"

You may ask.

And your server proudly will show you the menu.

"Who cooked it?"

Much of the material in The Waiter's Digest is strictly server-side oriented. It's written by a waiter, server,  whatever you might call him and it's his experiences which he shares with you.

Some of those short stories are spicy. The  jokes, collected and told by Liz  a professional tour-director, are recommended for mature audiences. Feel the color and taste the flavor in much of helmut's poetry, may it be about Carmel, Pebble Beach, Mosslanding, Salinas, or Big Sur on a Sunday afternoon. Never mind helmut's introduction to Chaucer.

Try the hands-on exercises in napkin folding as well as table settings, they are worth the effort.

What type of fare is served?

The writing as served up is helmut's, his style, his unique experiences and his tone.  The Waiter's Digest is a stir fry of gastronomical happenings cooked up  for your enjoyment. The recipes used are from the large collection of diaries kept by the   waiter helmut for more than thirty-five years.

Research into the past of America, might be of help for all who want to understand America and  the Americans better. If you dig deep enough you shall find thoughts explaining why America is the world-power as well as answers to questions like who has created today's fast-food-concepts? Who invented the hotel service as we know it and all the tourism as we experience it.

Enjoy the Oceanography part, served in style on tectonic plates, with worldwide links to weather reporting agencies as well as local observations made in the Monterey Bay.
