April 1775, Massachusetts Governor Gage was ordered to enforce the Coercive Acts and suppress "open rebellion" among the colonists by all necessary force. Yet very well aware of the explosive situation in the colonies King George sent nobody to America to intervene or attempt to calm the boiling tempers. One reason given for his non action was that he was too sick.(3)
